Thanks For The End Of Me

Gratitude Chronicles Part VIII

I don’t know when I started saying this to myself, but many years ago I discovered a profound truth. This truth was very much shaped by tough times, and tough discoveries in those tough times. Here’s what I discovered – When I come to the end of myself, I come to the beginning of God. By that I do not mean that God was nowhere to be found until I came to the end of myself. God was there with me the whole time, waiting patiently for me turn to Him. What I mean is that when I come to the end of my way and my timing, recognizing them for their emptiness and/or weakness, I come to the beginning of all that God can do, and say, and show when I let Him into my story. So today I’m thankful for those painful times when my way and my timing proved lacking, because in those times I came to the beginning of all that God is, says, and does.
