A Little More Informed

The famous car maker Henry Ford once said, “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” The fact is, we don’t know what we don’t know and God knows it far better than we do. Understanding the limits of our knowledge is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time a little more informed – even more so when we allow God to enter into our limitations to show us what He wants to show us. Control freaks like me don’t like to discover the limits of our knowledge because it reveals the fact that we’re really not in control. We would rather continue living in a mythology where we can believe we know all we really need to know. But real living comes from living in reality rather than a self-invented mythology. Really living a real life begins when we can admit, “I do not know,” and then move forward a little more informed by the God who does know.

We don’t like to discover our limitations…that reveals our inadequacies, but it also reveals God’s faithful trustworthiness, it’s when we see just how incomparable He is.
